Rachael our Hall Manager at One Penrhyn Road takes a look at the best student eats in Kingston Upon Thames…
So, can I write a blog about places to eat in and around Kingston…let’s see!
If you are looking for somewhere good to eat in and around Kingston, I would struggle to choose a favourite spot as there are just so many places to choose from!
Want to grab a quick bite to eat for lunch? Then why not try out some of the amazing street food in the Ancient Market.
The Ancient Market is home to 28 stalls and is 7 days a week, from 10am until 5pm. Apart from the traditional market stalls including a florist, fishmonger and greengrocers, the Ancient Market is home to an artisan bakery and a vibrant street food scene serving up authentic cuisines from across the globe.
I always find the indecisive side of me likes to see the food before I buy it too (it also helps to avoid the food envy ?)
With a vast array of burgers, crepes, burritos, tagines, and fresh juice to name a few, is there any wonder we’re all spoilt for choice in Kingston!? Why not pick up some meat, veg and fresh bread to take back home and rustle up something of your own?
With lunch sorted, let’s have a look at options to go for dinner (aka tea for us northerners). There are some great spots along by the river, a few chain restaurants, the majority of which have outdoor seating for when it’s a little warmer. I have also heard great things about Cappadocia Restaurant where you can get a very authentic Turkish meal at very reasonable prices too!
I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling quite peckish after all that talk of food…
I’m off to get some lunch!
Studying in Kingston this September? Bookings for 2020/21 are now open.
